The five steps

What Actually Happens

None of this needs you to drive anywhere or sit in a waiting room, and there's no app you have to live inside. It's a form, a video visit with a person, and then a box that shows up.

Filling out a telehealth weight loss request form in Florida
1. You fill out the formIt takes about two minutes and asks for your name, your phone, your city or ZIP in Florida and roughly what you're trying to do. We text you back the same day, usually within a couple of hours, and nothing is charged at this point.
Video visit with a licensed Florida nurse practitioner
2. You get on video with the providerAbout thirty minutes, from your kitchen or your car or your office. The provider goes through your history, your medications, what you've already tried and what went wrong with it, and then the two of you decide what you're starting on and at what dose.
Weight loss medication shipped to a Florida address
3. Your medication ships to youYour prescription goes to the pharmacy right after the visit and the box usually lands within a few days. It comes with everything you need and written instructions, and we walk you through your first dose by text or on a quick call if you want us to.
Texting a nurse practitioner about a weight loss program
4. You text us when something comes upThis is the part that makes us different from an app. When you have a question at week two, you text 561-216-7066 and a nurse or provider who has your chart open writes back. You're not opening a ticket and you're not starting over with somebody new.
Monthly provider check in for a weight loss program
5. A provider looks at you every monthOnce a month your provider reviews where you are, decides whether your dose moves up, stays put or comes down, and then the next month ships. Software doesn't just refill you on a timer, and that's deliberate.
What you need

What To Have Ready Before Your Visit

None of this is complicated and you don't need to prepare for an hour, but having these four things on hand makes the visit go faster and means your provider can make a real decision on the call instead of asking you to go look something up.

  • A current weight and your height. A bathroom scale is fine. Your provider needs this to work out where you're starting from.
  • Your medication list. Everything you take, including the over the counter things and the supplements, because some of them interact and some of them change the plan.
  • Your history, roughly. Any diagnoses, any surgeries, anything that runs in your family, and what you've already tried for weight and how it went.
  • Recent labs if you have them. If your own doctor ran blood work in the last six months or so, having it saves you from repeating it.

You'll also need a phone or a computer with a camera and to be physically located in Florida at the time of the visit, because that's the state our providers are licensed in and that's what telehealth law requires.

Blood work

Where Labs Fit In

Your provider will tell you on the visit whether you need baseline blood work, because it depends on your history, your age and what you're starting on. For a lot of people it's worth having a current picture of your thyroid, your kidney function, your blood sugar and your lipids before starting a GLP-1, and for some people there's nothing to chase and recent labs from their own doctor cover it.

If you do need labs, your provider will tell you exactly what to run and how to get it done where you live, and the cost of the labs themselves sits outside your monthly program price. If you've had blood work in the last six months, send it over and we'll usually work from that instead of repeating it.

Questions

The Things People Ask Us First

How do I start medical weight loss in Florida?

Fill out the form on this page or text 561-216-7066. We text you back the same day, set you up on a video visit with a licensed Florida provider, and if you're a fit you leave that visit with a plan and your medication ships within a few days. Most people go from the form to medication in hand inside a week.

Do I have to go to an office?

No. This is telehealth and it's available anywhere in Florida, so the visit happens on video from wherever you are and the medication is shipped to your address. Nobody drives anywhere.

How long is the first appointment?

About thirty minutes. The provider goes through your history, your current medications, what you've tried before, and then the two of you decide what you're starting on.

Do I need blood work before I start?

Sometimes. Your provider decides on the visit based on your history and what you're starting on, and if you've had labs in the last six months we can usually work from those. The cost of labs sits outside the monthly program price.

Who prescribes the medication?

A licensed Florida clinician who you meet on video, not an algorithm and not somebody you never speak to. Nothing gets prescribed off a questionnaire alone.

How does the medication get to me?

It ships to your address in Florida, usually within a few days of your appointment, with the supplies and written instructions. Shipping is included in your monthly price.

What happens each month after I start?

Your provider reviews where you are, decides whether your dose moves up or stays where it is, and the next month ships. You also have a nurse or provider you can text in between, and that's included.

Do I have to be in Florida for the visit?

Yes. Our providers are licensed in Florida, so you need to be physically located in the state at the time of your telehealth visit. You can be in any of the 67 counties.

How soon can I be seen?

Usually within a few days of filling out the form, and often the same week. Text 561-216-7066 if you want the fastest answer on what's open.
